Experience
Carmen Gentile has in-depth experience in energy law. He advises and litigates on behalf of clients, chiefly electric utility companies and investors in electric utility companies. His practice primarily involves matters directly or indirectly related to the Federal Power Act, associated statutes and the regulations and policies of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission which administers those statutes. Carmen has also assisted in state commission and bankruptcy proceedings and participated in antitrust litigation before the Federal District Courts. He has submitted briefs and given oral arguments in proceedings before the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Carmen has practiced in Washington, D.C. since 1971 and held positions as
Associate (1971-74) and partner (1975) in Debevoise & Liberman;
Co-founder of and partner in Bruder, Gentile & Marcoux (1976-2012);
Partner in Schiff Hardin (2013-15); and
Partner in Mogel & Sweet (2016-May 2019).
He continues his practice through Carmen L. Gentile, PLLC, which he formed in 2016.
